초록

A smart mattress is an assistive device that monitors health-related vital signs and automatically rotates to prevent pressure ulcers, reducing caregiver burden. This study examines differences in caregiving-related, digital-related, and smart mattress-related characteristics between family caregivers in hospital settings and online support communities and identifies factors influencing smart mattress adoption. A total of 303 family caregivers (92 hospital-based, 211 online community-based) of patients with chronic diseases participated. Survey data were analyzed using multiple stepwise regression, with demographic, caregiving, digital, and smart mattress-related factors as covariates. The mean participant age was 46.15 years (SD=12.89). No significant difference in caregiver burden was found between groups, but differences existed in age, income, patient activities of daily living, internet access, and digital literacy. Regression analysis revealed that perceived usefulness, necessity, and ease of use predicted smart mattress adoption (Adj. R- 2 =.39, F=61.06, P<.001). Findings highlight key predictors of adoption and differences between caregiver groups. Future research should explore strategies to bridge the gap between recognizing smart mattress benefits and purchase intention, ultimately enhancing caregiver support and care quality.
