고립된 4⋅3과 타인의 고통을 마주하는 법- 작별하지 않는다론
초록
Han Kang fulfills its ethical responsibility as a writer by remembering and sharing the suffering of the victims of the 4⋅3 incident, which is still continuing through <We Do Not Part>. And she wanted to extend the practice of mourning to more people. The general response to the pain of others is denial, which is an instinctive response. Therefore, the narrative of memory and mourning for the suffering of others should be to find a way to naturally overcome these unconscious defense mechanisms. Rather than directly conveying the exceptional feelings of those who have actually experienced the special event of state violence, <We Do Not Part> naturally allows anyone to be exposed to and empathize with such emotions by presenting situations and emotions that can be experienced universally, such as anxiety, fear, sadness, and loss. It spreads pain in such a way that it gradually approaches the pain of strangers through universal emotions, and finally makes a reader who has nothing to do with the 4⋅3 incident a victim of the 4⋅3 incident. Victims of events such as state violence can include not only those who have experienced it firsthand, but also victims as post-exposure people who learn the truth after the event occurs and suffer from it. <We Do Not Part> shows the process of the main character, Gyeong-ha, becoming a victim as a post-exposure people in 4⋅3 and mourning the memory of the incident and the victim’s pain by making many readers of this novel a victim as a post-exposure people.
