This study analyzes the changes in material properties resulting from the modification of the resin impregnation process applied to composite materials (carbon fiber- and glass fiber-reinforced plastics) used in aircraft to comply eco-friendly regulations. The conventional process involves a wet impregnation method using dichloromethane (DCM) as a diluent to reduce the resin viscosity. In response to increasingly stringent global environmental regulations limiting the use of DCM, the process is transitioned to a DCM-free hot-melt impregnation method. This study targets four types of composites comprising fabric and unidirectional forms based on carbon and glass fibers. The material properties are evaluated before and after the process change, and the key property changes are analyzed to identify their causes. Furthermore, the critical properties affecting compliance with existing requirements are determined, and the potential of the materials to consistently satisfy quality standards under the new process is assessed.
