Unlike most of the articles in 『Samguk Yusa』 Giipyeon, which are titles of kings or countries, <Cheoyongrang Manghaesa Temple> is an exception in that it consists of heterogeneous proper nouns. In this article, we will focus on the fact that the contents of the separate monster, power, difficulty, and god are reflected in the articles, and we will separate Cheoyongrang and Manghaesa as equals to explore the ecological meaning through the relationship between different spaces and people. <Cheoyongrang Manghaesa Temple> is a narrative composed of two independent narratives in different layers with a connecting narrative. The former is a story about the history of the gate god, and the latter is a story about the origin of the temple. As can be inferred from the name Cheoyong, the function of gate god is emphasized rather than his status as the son of dragon. At this time, the gate and temple can be said to be heterotopias, different spaces in reality. Heterotopia is a realistic place, a real place, and a kind of anti-placement, in contrast to utopia, which is an unrealistic space without a real place, and refers to a utopia that is actually realized. The gate is a space where the people of the country live and has a dual character. Before the image of Cheoyong was attached, it was a dangerous space where Yeoksin(god of disease) could enter, but later it was transformed into a heterotopia and transformed into a sacred space where personal safety and protection could be guaranteed. The temple is a temple built by King Heongang for the East Sea Dragon. Unlike a gate, a temple has a strong unitary character. In the face of an ecological crisis, the incompetent king establishes a temple to solve the problem by borrowing the power of the East Sea Dragon, but with the departure of the Donghae Dragon, the temple's function can no longer be found. Unlike the vertical order of hierarchies, the status of the overturned spatial order not only serves as a basis for explaining the article <Cheoyongrang Manghaesa, but can also be seen as reflecting the layers of meaning of the ecological environment surrounding human life.
