인권친화적 대학운동부 주거환경을 위한 체육행정가의 인식 연구

초록

This study aims to explore in depth the residential environment of college athletic teams from the perspective of sports administrators and to examine the operation of a human rights-friendly residential environment for college athletic teams. To this end, from September 2023 to January 2024, the residential environments of college athletic teams at 8 universities, including dedicated dormitories and other accommodations, were visited for on-site inspections and analysis of operational regulations. Eight sports administrators were interviewed. The collected interview data were analyzed using domain analysis and classification analysis to identify key themes. According to the research results, sport administrators had the following positive perceptions: 1) 'spatial rights' which have significantly improved compared to the past; 2) 'rights to freedom' as a space for relaxation rather than a secondary training area; and 3) 'safety rights' ensured by a systematic safety management system. These results indicate that sports administrators were clearly aware of the living spaces and related regulations for student-athletes and were making various efforts. On the other hand, the perceived limitations by sport administrators included: 1) 'equality rights' that do not fully reflect the characteristics of athletic teams; 2) 'participation rights' where internal rules (local rules) take precedence; and 3) 'cultural education and health rights' that are not being adequately addressed together. These results are significant in that they address the structural issues of the residential environment for college athletic teams. Based on these findings, the study proposes recommendations for the guidelines sports administrators should follow.
