초록
This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD) among Korean older adults aged 65 years and over using data from the 2023 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES), and to examine the influence of physical frailty components, based on the Fried criteria, on SCD after controlling for various risk factors. Among 1,404 community-dwelling older adults analyzed, 70.2% reported experiencing SCD. This relatively high prevalence may be attributed to the characteristics of the sample, including low educational attainment, low income, and a high prevalence of depressive symptoms. Hierarchical logistic regression revealed that depression was the most significant predictor of SCD, and among the Fried frailty components, only slow gait speed showed an independent association with SCD. Additionally, abnormal sleep duration, high stress levels, and poor self-rated health were also significantly related to SCD. These findings suggest that SCD is not merely a product of biological aging, but rather the result of complex interactions among psychosocial, lifestyle, and physical function factors. This study provides important evidence to support early screening and targeted intervention strategies for cognitive health among older adults.
