초록
This study investigated the mediating role of maternal identity in the relationship between parenting stress and postpartum depression among mothers of infants, and further examined the moderated mediation effect of self-differentiation. Data from 278 mothers aged 19 to 49 years, all within 12 months postpartum, were utilized for this study. The findings were as follows: First, parenting stress was positively correlated with postpartum depression and negatively correlated with both maternal identity and self-differentiation. Second, maternal identity partially mediated the relationship between parenting stress and postpartum depression. Third, self-differentiation moderated the impact of parenting stress on maternal identity. Finally, a significant moderated mediation effect was identified, indicating that self-differentiation influenced the indirect effect of parenting stress on postpartum depression through maternal identity. These results underscore the importance of interventions that strengthen maternal identity to alleviate postpartum depression among mothers of infants. In addition, counseling and educational programs that enhance self-differentiation may serve as protective factors during early parenting adjustment.
