This study aims to investigate the underlying mechanisms and linguistic characteristics of neologisms incorporating proper nouns, with particular attention to expressions such as 'Wonyoung-jeok sago(Wonyoung-like thinking)'. The objective is to elucidate recent trends in new word formation and to analyze their distinctive features. New word that include proper nouns may be classified into four morphological patterns: (1) Proper noun + -jeok sago(-like thinking), (2) Proper noun + -ha-(to behave like [Proper noun]), (3) Proper noun + i/ka + Proper noun + -ha-, and (4) Proper noun + Proper noun + -ha-. From a generative perspective, these neologisms are primarily formed through conceptual metonymy. As a result, they exhibit a tendency to be produced more rapidly and effortlessly than those derived from metaphorical conceptualization. Metonymic processes facilitate the formation of transient linguistic expressions more efficiently, enabling immediate and direct articulation. The emergence of such forms as buzzwords may be interpreted as a reflection of the contemporary linguistic landscape, in which language users favor spontaneity and directness in expression. Despite their high dependency on contextual cues, which may occasionally hinder effective communication, these expressions continue to proliferate in various forms. This phenomenon suggests that the motivation behind their creation lies less in communicative efficiency and more in speaker-centered linguistic innovation and the reinforcement of playful or expressive functions. Neologisms involving proper nouns began to emerge in a notable manner over a decade ago and have since undergone continuous transformation, with new variants continuing to arise. Accordingly, this study seeks to contribute to the understanding of the evolving linguistic behavior of contemporary language users and the current dynamics of neologism formation.
