초록

This study aimed to theoretically establish the correspondence between the ego states and life scripts of Transactional Analysis (TA) and the Sibseong of Myungrihak, and to verify its validity through case analysis. The research methodology consisted of a review of domestic academic literature published after 2000, along with ego state assessments, natal chart analyses, and in-depth interviews conducted with two counseling professionals and one layperson. The analysis confirmed meaningful correspondences between the five ego state functions (CP, NP, A, FC, and AC) and the Sibseong. The five life script drivers also demonstrated clear Sibseong equivalents: Be Perfect corresponded to Jeonggwan and Jeongin, Hurry Up to Gyeopjae and Pyeonjae, Please People to Sikshin and Jeongin, Be Strong to Bigyeon and Gyeopjae, and Try Hard to Jeonggwan and Pyeongwan. Case analyses further revealed that all three participants showed a consistent tendency for their ego state profiles to align with their Sibseong configurations. Whereas ego state assessments reflect current behavioral patterns, Sibseong analysis reveals underlying innate temperamental predispositions, confirming the mutually complementary nature of the two frameworks. The integrated application of Transactional Analysis and Myungrihak is expected to enable a more comprehensive and multi-layered understanding of clients' innate temperaments and environmentally shaped behavioral patterns, thereby contributing to the development of more sophisticated intervention strategies in counseling practice.
