초록

With the advancement of modern technology, anyone can easily publish their own e-book. In this paper, we will explore the intention to use of authoring tools for e-book self-publishing (e-Pub) and what factors influence their adoption. This study aims to investigate the quality factors influencing users’ continuous intention to use EPUB3.0-based e-book authoring tools, employing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the theoretical framework. As EPUB3.0 integrates multimedia and interactive functionalities, it enhances usability in educational and publishing contexts. An empirical analysis of 122 users of such tools demonstrated that reliability, efficiency, and portability significantly influenced perceived usefulness, which in turn influenced user attitude and continuous intention to use. Attitude also played a mediating role in the relationship between perceived usefulness and continuous intention to use. This study offers practical insights for improving the design and dissemination strategies of e-book authoring tools and enhancing the sustainability of digital publishing ecosystems.
