Since China promoted reform and opening up, the Central Conference on Ethnic Work (CCEW) have been held five times. During the Jiang Zemin era, two CCEW were held in 1992 and 1999 to promote strong economic development while emphasizing national unity. In the beginning of 21st century, Hu Jintao held the 3th CCEW in 2005 to emphasize China's rise based on economic development and to realize a Xiaokang society and great rejuvenation of the Chinese people. Xi Jinping, the leader of the status of G2, attempts to advance abroad by promoting the ‘Belt and Road Policy’ to realize the ‘Chinese Dream’, that is, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and at the 4th CCEW in 2014, this was held emphasizing the promotion of policies for the formation of the Chinese national community. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021, the CCP held the 5th CCEW based on the thesis of ‘strengthening the consciousness of the Chinese national community’, aiming for a new 100 years of success. This was linked to the setting of the direction of ethnic minority policy to move on to a new 100 years, or ‘new stage of development,’ through its advance into the world. Xi Jinping's efforts to build a ‘Chinese national community’ were the result of his ethnic minority policies promoted. However, it shows the limitations that it is difficult to escape from the aspect of assimilation. As described above, it was confirmed that the CCEW has an important meaning in summarizing the achievements so far and determining the direction of ethnic minority policy in the future. Through a simple summary of this, I could reconfirm its meaning in that I could clearly understand the flow and nature of China's ethnic minority policy, and I want to evoke our interest in it.
