브릿G 로맨스릴러 공모전(2018~2024)의 본심평 분석 및 장르 개념 검토

초록

In research on literary production systems, the authors, readers, media, literary awards, and contests are important subjects of analysis. We will focus on the 1st to 4th BritG Romance Thriller Contests, select the judges’ reviews (general and main reviews) as the analysis targets, and conduct a meta-criticism of them. Since the review is a very important text for the entrants and judges, analyzing it is directly connected to understanding what kind of interaction is taking place between each entity: “entrant - contest organizer (platform) - judge.” In this study, we specifically analyzed the use of words such as ‘thrill,’ ‘thriller,’ ‘romance,’ and ‘romance thriller.’ In this process, it is possible to capture how confusion surrounding concepts and controversies surrounding genres arise. We reviewed the practices and influence of BritG, a platform for the ‘romance thriller’ genre.
