초록

This study was conducted to analyze the perceived likelihood of criminal victimization according to spatial hierarchy and fear of crimeamong residents of low-rise multi-family housing located in the university town surrounding G University. The results of this study aresummarized as follows. First, female residents, those living at the public-private interface, and short-term residents perceived exterior blindspots and household entrance areas as more dangerous. Second, the first-floor common entrance was identified as one of the most dangerousspaces regardless of personal and residential characteristics. This suggests that it functions as the first gateway from the public street into thebuilding and as a crime-vulnerable node where public and private spaces intersect. Third, hierarchical regression analysis showed that fear ofcrime was more strongly affected by perceived crime vulnerability and specific spatial factors, such as the unit entrance door, than bydemographic and residential characteristics. These findings suggest that CPTED planning for university-area multi-family housing should movebeyond a facility-oriented approach and incorporate architectural planning standards that reflect the characteristics of micro-scale spatialelements.
