This study was conducted to develop a Barkhausen noise (BHN) probe and its signal processing circuit to measure the residual stress of rail. The design parameters of the developed BHN probe were analyzed using the finite element method. Based on the finite element analysis, the BHN probe comprising iron yoke and driving and detecting coils was fabricated. For detecting BHN signals, small signal processing circuits comprising signal generators, filters, and amplifiers were developed and embedded in the proposed BHN probes. Moreover, a measuring device comprising a BHN probe with a signal processing circuit, an AD/DA converter, and Raspberry Pi was constructed.
