경제상황에 따른 국방비 지출의 경제적 효과에 관한 연구

초록

This study aimed to examine the role of defense expenditures in response to changes in economic conditions and to examine the impact of defense expenditures on the national economy. To this end, we collected data on defense spending, unemployment rate, GDP, and economic growth rate through the Ministry of National Defense and the National Statistical Portal. The results of the study are as follows. First, defense spending had a positive relationship with GDP. Second, the influence of defense spending on employment rates varied depending on economic situations. In other words, the effect of defense spending on employment rate had a greater impact when the economic conditions were bad than when the economic conditions were good. This study aimed to provide a perspective on the economic contribution of defense spending and efficient defense spending by identifying the differential influence of defense spending on the national economy depending on economic situations.
