프랑스 달리하기 : 2023~2024년 프랑스사 연구 동향
초록
The French history research papers from 2023-24 not only uncovered new topics but also deepened the core research themes of existing French history studies, expanding the scope of research to include non-European French history and the history of non-European French people. Given the undeniable legacy of the French Empire and the changing identity of the French people alongside the progress of globalization, it can be said that transformations in French history were also explored. One characteristic of French history research over the past two years has been the attempt to expand its scope beyond Europe. Echoing Frantz Fanon's call to “Leave Europe,” research subjects have broadened to include non-European French history, represented by Algeria, Vietnam, and the West Indies. A trend is observed toward research that seeks to move away from the history of white bourgeois men and Eurocentrism. Research framing the French Revolution as part of the Atlantic Revolution has also flourished. Consequently, Western history studies in Korea are moving away from French national history and republican history, instead narrating the multifaceted and multilayered meanings of French history from the perspective of non-Europeans.
