The strong {001}beta 110 110 beta recrystallization texture, the rapidly solidified SMA fiber specimen was found to have a main texture close to (334)beta[356]beta by using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). A recovery strain of 5.1% was obtained in the SMA fiber specimen at a pre-strain of 5.5%. The present rapid solidified Ti-Zr-Nb-Sn SMA fibers will be of considerable applications in manufacturing superelastic porous scaffolds for bone repair.
