초록
This study aimed to develop a tool to measure the self-efficacy of veterinary nurses. The research utilized the Delphi method for analysis. A Delphi panel was formed with experts with professional knowledge in veterinary nurse education, and the validity of the items derived from a literature review was verified. The results showed that the Contents Validity Ratio (CVR) were 0.42 or higher and Coefficient of Variation (CV) were 0.5 or lower, respectively, for all items, allowing the tool to be used as a preliminary instrument. A survey was then conducted with 142 practicing veterinary nurses nationwide, followed by factor analysis. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value for content validity was 0.895, and Bartlett’s test result was p < 0.001. Through Varimax rotation analysis, 16 items and three sub-factors were identified: goal achievement, challenge spirit, and self-confidence. The communality of the sub-factors ranged from 0.451 to 0.68, demonstrating suitability. The overall Cronbach’s α value was 0.911, while the values for the three sub-factors were 0.744 for goal achievement, 0.788 for challenge spirit, and 0.901 for self-confidence, confirming the reliability of the survey tool. The measurement tool developed through this study is useful for diagnosing and evaluating the self-efficacy of veterinary nursing working in clinical practice. It is expected to be utilized in future research on the relationship between various scales and self-efficacy in veterinary nurses. Additionally, it can serve as foundational data for developing programs to enhance veterinary nurses' self-efficacy, contributing to the systematic management of their mental health.
