戰國 시기 齊 文字의 특징 및 傳承에 관한 연구
초록
As its name suggests, the Warring States period was marked by political and social turmoil. Such instability also influenced regional writing systems, resulting in the emergence of numerous Variant Characters. Although the recent discovery of a large number of excavated texts has greatly advanced the study of the Warring States Script, research on the Qi Script remains relatively insufficient despite its historical significance as one of the major regional scripts during both the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Therefore, this study investigates the characteristic shapes of characters in the Qi Script and examines, from both synchronic and diachronic perspectives, their transmission into Variant Characters of the regular script. The results show that Variant Characters in the Qi Script exhibit distinctive features, including the omission, substitution, and addition of character components, decorative strokes, simplification and complication, symbolization, and graphic corruption. Furthermore, some Variant Characters of the Qi Script were transmitted into Variant Characters of the regular script through the process of clerical transformation (Libian), while simultaneously giving rise to new Variant Characters. In addition, some character shapes used in the Qi Script have survived as the standard forms of Chinese characters used today. These findings demonstrate the continuity and extensibility of Chinese characters from another perspective and provide fundamental data for future studies on the regional scripts and Variant Characters of the Warring States period.
