Evaluation of Design Wind Speed for Bridges Considering Surface Roughness Changes

초록

The annual maximum wind speed in Korea is increasing, and the increased wind loads on structures can cause accidents such as structural collapse. In this study, scenarios for each level of surface roughness change were assumed. The annual maximum wind speed in a specific region was analyzed using wind load design standards, the design wind speed was calculated, and the results were compared. The comparison results based on each design standard revealed that the difference in design wind speed owing to wind-speed correction methods was not significant. However, variations in the design wind speed were observed based on the return period and load coefficient. It was also determined that differences in design wind speed owing to surface roughness can vary depending on regional wind speed characteristics.
