俛宇 郭鍾錫의 詞 고찰
초록
As a renamed Neo-Confucianist who was active in the 19th century, Kwak Jong-seok left a vast amount of writings for future generations with a sense of duty as a Confucian scholar who inherited the studies of Confucius and Mencius. Among them, he leaves about two thousand poems and sixteen poems, which is sufficient to attract the attention of Ci-Qu(詞曲) researchers. To date, there has been no research on Kwak Jong-seok's Ci-Poetry, and his translations have been primarily made. Therefore, this paper focused on the purpose of the study to accurately identify the overall trend of Joseon Ci-Poetry(朝鮮詞) in the 19th century by analyzing Kwak Jong-seok's Ci-Poetry(詞) in detail in terms of content and form, and furthermore, to accurately identify the characteristics that appeared in the content and form of Kwak Jong-seok's Ci-Poetry(詞). For Kwak Jong-seok, poetry was by no means a hobby but a crystal of the fusion of province and poetry, as a series of actions to create or appreciate poetry aim to cultivate virtue by cultivating the spirit of the castle. In addition, his writings are evaluated as "Most of them are of narrative or logical practicality, so they tend to give a somewhat hard and dry feeling." Among his poems and essays, although a small amount, the sixteen poems show a completely different trend from the existing style. In particular, he used the form of ‘Joint-Chapter Style’, which is rarely seen in Korean’s Ci-Poetry(詞). This phenomenon is common not only in Kwak Jong-seok's individual but also in characters who are related to him, so it is necessary to accurately identify its position in the history of Korean literature through continuous research on it in the future.
