근대 전환기 강우(江右) 지역 노사학파(蘆沙學派) 강학 공간 연구 － 강회(講會)와 지식 생산의 장소성을 중심으로 －

초록

This article examines the learning spaces and lecture meetings of the Nosa School (蘆沙學派) in the Gangwoo (江右) region during Korea’s transitional modern period, focusing on the spatiality of knowledge production. Unlike previous research that mainly emphasized the intellectual content of the Nosa School, this article highlights the physical and social significance of the spaces where lectures and discussions were held. By analyzing key sites such as Sinan Jeongsa (新安精舍), Mueui Jeongsa (武夷精舍), Gyeonggang Jeongsa (敬岡精舍), and Agyangjeong (岳陽亭), along with related commemorative writings (記文), the article identifies the following findings. First, these learning spaces were not mere architectural facilities but symbolic sites for preserving Confucian traditions and ensuring academic continuity. Second, lecture meetings functioned as dynamic arenas of knowledge production, generating new interpretations and discourses that reflected contemporary concerns rather than simply reproducing classical teachings. Third, the learning spaces operated as open intellectual networks in which scholars from various schools, not only the Nosa School, actively participated. Fourth, beyond academic activities, these spaces embodied the cultural identity of local Confucian communities through rituals. In sum, the learning spaces of the Nosa School in the Gangwoo region served as complex loci that simultaneously enabled the transmission of scholarship and the reproduction of communal identity, thereby underscoring the importance of spatiality and regionality in the study of Korean Confucianism during the modern transition.
