· Research topics: The influence of self-esteem and self-efficacy on job performance among veterinary nurses · Research background: This study aimed to examine how self-esteem and self-efficacy among veterinary nurses influence job performance, including the efficiency of veterinary hospital care, client satisfaction, and organizational outcomes, in response to the growing expectations for qualitative improvement in veterinary medical services. · Differences from prior research: Previous studies on veterinary nurses have mainly focused on the institutionalization of education, scope of practice, job stress, job satisfaction, job embeddedness, and job competency; however, research on the factors influencing job performance among veterinary nurses has been limited. · Research method: A survey was conducted with 99 veterinary nurses using instruments measuring self-esteem, self-efficacy, and job performance. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS/WIN 22.0 through descriptive statistics, t-tests, and one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and reliability testing were also performed. · Research results: The multiple regression analysis showed an explanatory power of 63.2%, a variance inflation factor(VIF) of 2.963, correlation coefficients of 0.757 and 0.814, scatterplots showed an upward trend, and reliability coefficients ranged from 0.939 to 0.959. These findings indicate that both self-esteem and self-efficacy were significant predictors of job performance. · Contribution points and expected effects: The findings suggest that veterinary nurses job performance may be more closely related to psychological resources such as self-esteem and self-efficacy than to simple sociodemographic characteristics. This implies that, in order to improve job performance among veterinary nurses, it is necessary to establish educational programs that strengthen self-esteem and self-efficacy, supportive leadership, a culture of recognition and respect, personnel management strategies that allow for the accumulation of experience, and training in client communication and interpersonal skills.
