초록
This study explores the pedagogical usefulness of a staged Orange3-based instructional sequence for humanities undergraduates, in which learners move from familiar numeric classification tasks to text classification. Based on Bruner’s EIS theory, the course was organized into five stages: Iris classification, penguin classification, spam text classification, Google Colab code reproduction, and real-life connection. Eighteen students majoring in English Language and Literature participated in the study, and data were collected through a retrospective pretest (then) and posttest (post) survey and open-ended responses. The analysis showed that this approach supported learners’ conceptual understanding of machine learning, helped them connect no-code and code-based learning, and contributed to their recognition of data literacy as relevant to real life and future career paths. These findings suggest that this course design can serve as a practical model for introductory data literacy education for non-computer science majors.
