지역혁신클러스터 정책이 항공산업에 미치는 영향 분석 : 입지계수를 활용한 경남지역 사례 중심으로

초록

This study examined the impact of the regional innovation cluster policy on the aerospace materials and components industry in Gyeongnam, South Korea, using the Location Quotient (LQ) method. Established in 2018, the Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Cluster focuses on fostering the aerospace industry in designated areas such as Jinju, Sacheon, Haman, and Goseong. The LQ analysis, a commonly used method for measuring regional industry specialization, showed that after the establishment of the cluster, Gyeongnam's aerospace industry has consistently exhibited high LQ values, indicating strong specialization nationwide. While the LQ for the number of businesses declined from 2018 to 2021, the LQ for employees and shipment value increased slightly each year. This suggests that despite a reduction in the number of firms, probably due to challenges like coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the surviving firms became more resilient and robust. Based on these findings, this study proposes policy recommendations to ensure further advancement of the Gyeongnam aerospace industry through regional innovation cluster initiatives.
