초록

This paper was intended to seek a practical method of media appreciation and propose a possibility to develop it into the dimension of production in order to emphasize the importance of preparing a practical method for media education. To that end, the perception and education methods of media education presented in the current curriculum were analyzed, and the strengths and weaknesses of media education in the current curriculum situation were examined through a search for media textbooks reflecting the foregoing. Based on the results, this paper emphasized that in order for media education to achieve the desirable goal of multi-literacy education, substantial and practical methods of media education should be presented step by step and applied the education methods termed ‘individuality of signs’, ‘structural relationship’, and ‘incorporative semanticity’ to actual video media analysis as a way. In addition, this paper expatiated that such educational stages can be utilized not only in the process of media appreciation but also in the phase of media production and forecasted expectations for the educational effects.
