초록

Quinoline and its scaffolds hold a prominent place in various fields of science. Quinoline based drug candidates have been identified as antimalarial agents for many times. Not only that, quinoline derivatives also show promising potential in other fields of medical science, like anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antitubercular. The advancement in the chemistry of quinoline is continuously running to develop more valuable scaffolds of quinoline. In this context, green synthesis is a popular methodology owing to its nature-friendly properties. Fe based NPs as green catalysts attracted a lot of attention in the synthesis of quinolinesin the past two decades. A solvent-free environment provides a safer and greener atmosphere for the reaction. The solvent-free medium and Fe based NPs catalysis afford a diverse library of quinoline based molecular hybrids. Accordingly, the current manuscript summarizes solvent-free green synthetic protocols for the development of quinolinesunder the catalysis of Fe based NPs. The manuscript focuses on synthetic methodology, mechanistic insights, challenges, limitations, and future scope.
