초록
This study experimentally investigate the correlation between the physical properties and sound absorption performance of lightweight foamed concrete incorporating waste paper, in response to the growing demands for carbon neutrality and resource circulation. Waste paper, a cellulose-based porous material, offers notable advantages in terms of lightness and acoustic absorption, suggesting its potential applicability as a sustainable construction material. The experiments were conducted by varying the waste paper content (0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 % by weight of cement) and target dry densities (0.25, 0.40, and 0.55 g/cm³), and key properties such as density, compressive strength, porosity, and noise reduction coefficient (NRC) were measured. A strong linear correlation (R² = 0.989) between slurry density and dry density indicates the potential use of slurry density as a practical quality control parameter during production. Although the incorporation of waste paper contributed positively to both effective porosity and NRC, excessive inclusion or low-density conditions (around 0.25 g/cm³) led to destabilization of the foam structure, resulting in performance degradation. At moderate density levels (approximately 0.40 g/cm³), the addition of more than 1 % waste paper effectively enhanced the internal porous network, leading to improved acoustic performance. Overall, waste paper–incorporated lightweight foamed concrete demonstrates promising potential as a sustainable architectural finishing material that meets both recyclability and acoustic performance criteria.
