The Impact of Job Characteristics on Job Satisfaction among Reemployed Baby Boomers: Using Latent Class Analysis(LCA)

초록

Purpose This study aims to identify the types of jobs among reemployed baby boomers in South Korea and to examine the differences in job satisfaction according to each type. Methods For this purpose, data from the 25th wave of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) were used, focusing on 553 reemployed baby boomers. The analysis methods included descriptive statistics, latent class analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results The main findings of this study are as follows: First, the characteristics of reemployment jobs chosen by the domestic baby boomer generation were classified into three types: unstable welfare-oriented, unstable job-oriented, and stable job-oriented. Second, factors influencing the characteristics of reemployment jobs chosen by baby boomers included gender, age, education level, average monthly wage, and current health status. Third, examining the differences in job satisfaction according to these three types revealed that job satisfaction was statistically significantly lower in the unstable job type compared to the other two types. Conclusion Based on these findings, practical implications for enhancing job satisfaction among reemployed baby boomers, as well as the limitations of this study and directions for future research, were discussed.
