The Effect of Job-seeking Stress on SNS Addiction Tendency among University Students: The Mediating Role of Depression Moderated by Active Coping Strategies

초록

This study examined how job-seeking stress and depression affect SNS addiction proneness and tested the moderated mediation effects of active coping. A total of 254 university students aged 18 to 26 completed an online survey using measures of job-seeking stress, depression (CES-D), SNS addiction proneness, and coping strategies. Analyses were conducted with SPSS 27.0 and Process Macro 4.2. First, job-seeking stress, depression, SNS addiction proneness, and problem-focused coping were significantly correlated, whereas seeking social support was not related to job-seeking stress or SNS addiction proneness. Second, depression mediated the relationship between job-seeking stress and SNS addiction proneness. Third, problem-focused coping moderated both the link between job-seeking stress and depression and the mediating effect on SNS addiction proneness. Seeking social support showed no moderating effects. Implications and limitations were discussed.
