초록

This study examines the intercultural sensitivity of parents in multicultural families and its impact on their children's participation in Korean language education. Using SPSS 27.0, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were conducted. The results showed that “respect for cultural differences” had the highest average score (3.80), while “attention to interaction” had the lowest (3.25). Parents' intercultural sensitivity significantly varied by their Korean proficiency. Regarding children's language education, “interest in children's Korean learning” scored highest (4.08), whereas “speaking Korean at home” was lowest (3.36). This study highlights the role of intercultural sensitivity in Korean language education, an underexplored topic, by comprehensively analyzing parents' sensitivity and children's learning patterns. Further qualitative research is needed to enhance intercultural awareness in multicultural families and support their adaptation to Korean society.
