치매친화적 지역사회 조성을 위한 치매안심마을 정책 탐색 : 경상남도 치매안심마을 운영위원들의 인식을 중심으로

This study explores the developmental direction of the ‘Dementia-Friendly Village’ policy, a key element in creating dementia-friendly communities to address the national crisis of a rapidly increasing dementia population in a super-aged society. To overcome the limitations of the central government's top-down policy implementation, this study analyzed the subjective perceptions of 32 steering committee members in Gyeongsangnam-do using Q-methodology. The findings identified four distinct types of perceptions: ‘Education-Oriented (Type 1),’ which emphasizes the importance of dementia education; ‘Public Responsibility-Oriented (Type 2),’ which defines dementia patients as subjects for protection; ‘Social Integration-Oriented (Type 3),’ which stresses interaction among patients, families, and the community; and ‘Community Participation-Oriented (Type 4),’ which aims for a community-based care network. This study recommended that the existing operation of Dementia-Friendly Villages should shift from a top-down system to a bottom-up integrated model based on the agency of persons with dementia and the organic engagement of the local community.
