Membrane-Based Treatment Technologies for Soil Remediation Effluents

초록

Among various soil remediation methods, soil washing is widely used due to its ability to rapidly and effectively remove high concentrations of heavy metals and certain organic contaminants. However, the treatment of soil washing effluents, which contain a complex mixture of heavy metals, surfactants, salts, and persistent organic pollutants, remains a significant challenge. To address these issues, membrane-based technologies have emerged as promising alternatives. This review categorizes these technologies into pressure-driven, osmotically driven, thermally driven, and electrochemically driven systems, and comprehensively summarizes recent research trends. Furthermore, key technical challenges such as membrane fouling and energy consumption are evaluated, and future directions are discussed, including integrating hybrid systems and sustainable treatment strategies based on resource recovery.
