동해 남부 해역에 출현하는 꼼치 (Liparis tanakae)의 계절별 섭식특성

초록

This study investigated the seasonal feeding habits of Tanaka’s snailfish (Liparis tanakae) based on 130 specimens (6.0~41.8 cm total length) collected from the southeastern coast of Korea seasonally between January and December 2006. The dietary weight contribution (%W) indicated that the diet was heavily dominated by carid shrimps (94.2%), followed by teleosts (3.8%) and crabs (0.9%). Liparis tanakae was a specialist predator, primarily exploiting crangonid shrimps, which were highly abundant within the local benthic decapod community. Dietary composition of Liparis tanakae showed concurrent ontogenetic and seasonal changes, reflecting the seasonal progression of body growth. In particular, the proportional contribution of teleosts and crabs increased with both fish size and seasonal progression, corresponding with a gradual decrease in carid shrimp consumption. In terms of season, the consumption of Crangon hakodatei remained consistently high in all seasons, whereas the proportion of teleosts and crabs increased slightly during autumn. Furthermore, electivity index demonstrated that the prey selection of L. tanakae was directly influenced by seasonal variations in the abundance of carid shrimps in their surrounding habitats.
