Pseudocercospora eustomatis 에 의한 리시안셔스 점무늬병국내 발생 보고

First Report of Cercospora Leaf Spot Disease Caused by Pseudocercospora eustomatis on Eustoma grandiflorum in Korea

초록

Due to its economic value, Lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflorum) is a widely cultivated horticultural plant worldwide, but various diseases can damage and cause severe loss. In December 2023, disease symptoms were discovered in E. grandiflorum cultivated in Gimhae, Korea's major horticulture plant production area. The infected Lisianthus showed darkening of the leaves and wilting symptoms. It is known that this type of disease has not been reported domestically to date in the Lisianthus plant. In this study, we isolated the causal pathogen from the damaged leaves of E. grandiflorum and performed morphological and molecular identification of the pathogen. Morphological characteristics of the pathogen include slow growth, dense mycelia, and thin, long conidia (39.6 × 2.82 μm). ITS and LSU regions sequencing analysis was performed for molecular identification of the pathogen, and the pathogen was identified as Pseudocercospora eustomatis through comparison with the GenBank database. Additionally, a pathogenicity test of P. eustomatis on E. grandiflorum was conducted, and the same disease symptoms were confirmed by artificial inoculation of the pathogen. To our knowledge, this is the first report that P. eustomatis caused a cercospora leaf spot disease on E. grandiflorum in Korea.
