This study aimed to propose an appropriate workload for real-time surveying of exposed pipelines during the installation or modification of various underground facilities. To determine the daily workload for exposed facilities, the current standard itemization of underground facilities construction (2023) was analyzed to identify the daily workload of 252m/day for exposed facilities. In addition, the adequacy of the daily workload was confirmed through an actual on-site survey of underground facility pipelines. The results showed that the surveying of exposed pipeline locations in civil engineering construction can be delayed due to waiting times, which depend on the construction conditions and tasks. Based on the on-site survey, the appropriate daily workload for surveying of exposed pipelines was found to be an average of 82m/day, which was significantly different from the workload specified in the current standard itemization for construction. Therefore, it is necessary to reflect appropriate waiting times in the surveying of exposed pipeline locations to achieve a reasonable improvement in the daily workload specified in the standard itemization and to update the current surveying fees accordingly.
