초록

The consumption of dog meat in South Korea remains a contentious issue, fueling social conflict due to deeply held opposing views. This study employs Q methodology to identify diverse perspectives on dog meat consumption and derive strategies for conflict resolution. By examining the historical and cultural contexts and applying Q methodology with university students, the research highlights the need for a government-led collaborative governance model. This framework should integrate scientific evidence and public engagement to effectively manage the conflicting interests surrounding dog meat consumption. © Jonghwan Eun and Jae-Wan Lee, 2026.
