무형유산 전승공동체와 경제 활동 －강릉단오제를 중심으로－

초록

The Gangneung Dano Festival is a festive event held during the Dano Festival. As a traditional festival that combines local religious beliefs and traditional performing arts, it maintains its longevity. The Gangneung Dano Festival preserves the region's folklore through local rituals and folk games, and its participation fosters a sense of community and strengthens its identity. When examining the intangible cultural heritage communities associated with performing arts and festivals, research tends to focus on the main performers and preservation groups (performers). Consequently, it neglects other ancillary events, individuals, institutions, and organizations. In fact, monitoring of national intangible cultural heritage, including the Gangneung Dano Festival, focuses on public events, leaving virtually no records of the activities of individuals and groups participating in the festival. Few, if any, detailed records exist of ancillary events beyond the main event. To further study the intangible cultural heritage community, research needs to expand beyond the Gangneung Danoje Preservation Association and the Gangneung Danoje Committee to include citizens and organizations. This study, through interviews with individuals and organizations participating in the Gangneung Dano Festival, identified Danoje as a festival created by the citizens of Gangneung. This study demonstrated that citizens' participation in the festival not only fosters a sense of community and strengthens the festival's identity, but also generates economic circulation.
