6차산업인증이 농업기업의 혁신성장에 미치는 영향

초록

In the 2000s, for the sustainable growth of agriculture, the concept of the 6th industry is constantly being emphasized. In line with international trends, Korea Government is also striving to achieve the 6th industrialization of agriculture by enacting the 'Act on Promotion and Support of Rural Convergence Industries' in 2014 and implementing the 6th industry certification policy from 2015. However, until now, no studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of the 6th industry certification policy itself. In this study, the economic (increase in sales and assets), social (increase in employment) and innovation performance (increase in patent and R&D investment) of the 6th industry certification policy were examined. In terms of methodology, the performance was examined by comparing the 6th industry certified company with the twin company using the propensity score matching method. As a result of the analysis, it was found that certified companies showed an effect of increasing sales or increasing assets in the short term through the 6th industry certification. However, this effect did not last in the mid to long term. In addition, there was no statistically significant effect on the increase in employment and R&D investment, while there was a statistically significant positive effect on the increase in patents. Based on these analysis results, this paper presents some policy implications for expanding support for technical commercialization using patents created by 6th industrial companies.
