비과학의 세계와 포스트휴먼 페미니즘 - 김초엽의 『지구 끝의 온실』(2021)과 『파견자들』(2023)을 중심으로

This article examines the “non-scientific world” represented in Kim Cho-yeop's novels 'Greenhouse at the End of the Earth' and 'The Dispatchers' through the theoretical framework of posthuman feminism proposed by Rosi Braidotti. Both novels dismantle the binary oppositions that have structured modern scientific thought—such as human/ nonhuman, nature/culture, and male/female—and explore new forms of relationships and communities among beings that have been marginalized by anthropocentric epistemology. 'Greenhouse at the End of the Earth' presents a relational community in which humans, plants, and technologies are interconnected through mutual dependence, particularly through the narratives of Jisu and Rachel, who embody subjectivities that traverse the boundaries between human and nonhuman. 'The Dispatchers', meanwhile, challenges the modern concept of the autonomous human subject through the ontology of the Flooders and the Swamp People. The protagonist Taerin functions as a transversal subject who mediates between humans and nonhumans, thereby demonstrating an alternative mode of perception beyond anthropocentric thought. This study argues that both novels reveal the limitations of human-centered scientific rationality and imagine new communities grounded in networks of interdependence between human and nonhuman beings. Such communities are based not on hierarchy and exclusion but on difference, relationality, and mutual care, thereby embodying the ethics of transversality emphasized by posthuman feminism. Ultimately, Kim Cho-yeop's science fiction can be understood as an important literary example of posthuman feminist imagination that explores the possibilities of coexistence in the age of the Anthropocene and climate crisis.
