초록
This study examined the structural relationships among anxiety, emotional clarity, adaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and self-acceptance among college students, and tested the mediating effects of emotional clarity and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation in the relationship between anxiety and self-acceptance. An online survey was conducted with students enrolled in three universities in Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea, and data from 471 participants were analyzed using SPSS 30.0 and AMOS 30.0. The results showed that anxiety had a direct negative effect on self-acceptance, and that emotional clarity and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation each partially mediated the relationship between anxiety and self-acceptance. In addition, the sequential mediating effect of emotional clarity and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation in the relationship between anxiety and self-acceptance was significant. These findings suggest that emotional clarity and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation may function as integrated and sequential psychological mechanisms in the relationship between anxiety and self-acceptance among college students. The study discusses counseling implications regarding the roles of emotional and cogntivie variables in the relationship between anxiety and self-acceptance, as well as the study’s limitations and directions for future research.
