고령층의 근로 의향 및 재취업에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

This study examined the factors influencing job selection for the elderly as they transition from their main careers to new positions as wage workers. In the first part of the analysis, we looked at job search activities and employment experiences for individuals over the age of 60. We found that both the number of job search activities and employment experiences for this demographic have been increasing simultaneously. Additionally, we observed a growing correlation between re-employed positions and past primary careers. In the second part of our analysis, we focused on the intention to continue working and the actual likelihood of re-employment for those over 60. It was revealed that the desire to remain in the labor market was relatively low among elderly women without spouses and those with a middle school education or lower. However, the likelihood of these individuals actually engaging in economic activities as wage workers was high. This indicates that they may be compelled to work even if they do not wish to. In the third part of our analysis, we explored the preferred working conditions for elderly individuals who wish to continue working. Our findings showed that those with lower educational levels desired to remain in the labor market for longer periods. Furthermore, women showed a greater preference for part-time work compared to men, and individuals who had longer tenures in their previous main jobs typically sought higher wages. Overall, the results of our analysis confirmed that preferences for continued employment and re-employment opportunities among individuals over 60 vary based on personal characteristics as well as the nature of their previous main careers.
