중학생의 팀스포츠 활동에 대한 긍정적 정서 경험 분석

Analyzing middle school students' positive emotional experiences with team sports activities

초록

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the situations and causes that elicit positive emotions among middle school students during team sports activities in physical education classes, as well as to examine the causes of individual emotions and gender differences. Methods: Data were collected from 319 second-year middle school students (170 females, 149 males) in Gyeongsangnam-do using the ‘Team Sports Experience Questionnaire.’ The collected data were analyzed through inductive content analysis, and gender differences were examined using chi-square tests. Results: Positive emotion-eliciting situations occurred in the following order: relationships (41.20%), achievement (36.88%), and the activity itself (21.93%). Male students showed higher positive emotional experiences through achievement (44.00%), while female students showed higher experiences through the activity itself (29.14%). In terms of causes of positive emotions, relationships (44.26%) and achievement (39.62%) were the main factors, and among individual emotions, joy (92.0%) was the most frequently experienced. Conclusion: Team sports activities in physical education classes provide students with diverse positive emotional experiences, and these patterns may differ according to gender. Therefore, physical education teachers should design lessons that include a balanced combination of relationship, achievement, and activity elements, and implement gender-specific strategies to ensure that all students can experience rich positive emotions.
