- Abstract
- The aim of this paper is to extend the Dynamic Access approach originally proposed in Shim (2022), which holds that the interpretive systems directly access the syntax to carry out relevant interpretation. From this perspective, the operation Transfer and the Phase Impenetrability Condition, both assumed in the standard framework, are no longer required, thereby further advancing the pursuit of Minimalism. Building on this foundation, the paper examines several theoretical implications of Dynamic Access for the ontology of internal Merge and outlines a way of capturing successive-cyclic movement within this framework. This paper concludes with a discussion of remaining open questions and an outline of possible directions for future research.
