- Abstract
- Background The genus Mollitrichosiphum Suenaga belongs to the subfamily Greenideinae, with 18 species hav been recorded worldwide. New information The genus Mollitrichosiphum is a completely new record in South Korea. In 2024, Mollitrichosiphum (Metatrichosiphon) luchuanum (Takahashi, 1930) was collected on Meliosma myriantha located in Hawon-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea (33.19590, 126.28340). Illustrations of apterous viviparous females and alate viviparous females, description, measurement, host plants and distributions are provided. In addition, DNA barcoding, based on a mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequence and a mitochondiral cytochrome b (CytB) sequence are provided.
