Abstract
In this paper, tubular flux-switching permanent magnet machines with different hybrid magnetic cores are studied, incorporating both soft magnetic composites and electrical steel. Different lamination structures of electrical steel are discussed in terms of manufacturability and eddy current losses. The structure of soft magnetic composites is proposed to effectively reduce the eddy current losses of electrical steel laminations. The electromagnetic performance, including back-EMF, thrust force, losses, and efficiency, is compared across different core configurations.
