Composite lattice shells are widely used in aerospace applications due to their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. However, the presence of openings in these structures, commonly required for access ports or equipment integration, significantly influences their buckling behavior. This study investigates the impact of opening shape, aspect ratio, and location on the buckling performance of conical lattice composite shells using finite element analysis (FEA). A comprehensive parametric study reveals that circular or near-circular openings exhibit superior structural performance due to more uniform stress distribution. Openings aligned perpendicular to the load direction improve buckling resistance, with an optimal aspect ratio of approximately one. Additionally, openings positioned near structural ribs mitigate stress concentration and enhance load-bearing capacity. The findings provide practical design guidelines for optimizing composite lattice structures with openings, ensuring improved stability and structural efficiency in aerospace applications.-
