- Abstract
- The European Union plans to implement the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism in 2026 to regulate carbon emissions and reduce trade competition inequality for global companies. Businesses and governments are currently working towards adopting this initiative. The automobile parts industry, which accounts for the second-largest export volume in our country, is researching on production manufacturing technologies that will reduce carbon emissions. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is promoting the development of low-carbon processing technologies by supporting the establishment of a monitoring system to reduce energy usage per unit of machine tool production through a carbon-neutral smart factory distribution support project. In this study, we calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emitted during the machining of electric vehicle motor cover parts on a machining center machine tool. The Feed value is optimized based on the cutting force. Accordingly, we propose a method to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions during machining by optimizing the cutting speed.
