dc.description.abstractThe brake system, including brake disc and pad, is important part of automotive safety system. Conventionally the cast ion disc has been used as the brake system in commercial vehicles. This study aims to investigate the characteristics and safety for brake disc with 3 materials, that is, cast iron, structural steel and aluminum, through numerical analysis. As the results, as the contact pressure of brake disc was increased, the deformation and maximum stress were linearly increased, on the other hand, the strain energy was increased with a quadratic curve. Furthermore it could be predicted the allowable vehicle weight as considering the contact pressure, safety factor and especially disc materials.-
