- Abstract
- Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in adults with diabetes. Methods: This study used data from the 2021 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, focusing on 507 individuals aged 40 or older diagnosed with diabetes and with complete data, including the SCD assessment. Multivariate logistic regression analysis using a complex sample was performed to identify factors influencing SCD. Results: The prevalence of SCD was determined to be 65%, with age, anxiety, and depression identified as significant factors influencing its occurrence. The likelihood of experiencing SCD increased with advancing age, higher anxiety levels, and the presence of depression, with anxiety identified as the strongest risk factor. Conclusion: Improving cognitive function in adults with diabetes requires tailored management strategies that address psychological health factors, particularly anxiety and depression, with an emphasis on early intervention.
